|On a very pleasant February evening, Friday the 10th. to be precise, 14 members assembled at the Funicular at La Coude. All were there promptly at 18:30 but then had to wait until 18:43 before the driver appeared for a start at 18:45. There was some confusion whether we had to get tickets for the trip but finally we were on our way up the mountain to Chaumont. A short, bracing walk and we were at the restaurant taking our seats and enjoying an apéro, with one more member who drove straight there, before the (copious) pots of melted cheese appeared. An excellent fondue!
The trip is recommended, but probably better in late spring when you will get the view of the lake as you go up the funicular. The lights of Neuchâtel were interesting but no substitute for the real view!
Thanks to Joy for organizing it.
